The town of Faetano (Republic of San Marino -Italy) is holding on 15 September 2007 a conference on the 1/9 Gurkha Rifles of 4th Indian Division, and Sher Bahadur Thapa, Victoria Cross recipient.

The conference will be attended by Col. Amarjeet Singh of the Indian Embassy in Rome, Fiorenzo Stolfi Foreign Minister of San Marino, Rosolino Martelli San Marino Militia General and other authorities.

The conference ia a promotional event aiming to remark the 18 September 2008 projects consisting in the unveiling of a Memorial near Monte Pulito, the release of a bilingual book dealing on the Gurkhas in San Marino, the issue of a special cancellation postmark dedicated to Sher Bahadur Thapa as well as a numbered philatelic envelope commemorating the very VC recipient.
